WTC ERECTION PHOTOS BY: FLOFOX
I ENTERED THE LOBBY OF THE WORLD TRADE
CENTER AND I GOT A BADGE TO PHOTOGRAPH THE
PREMISES .. WHEN INSIDE THE ELEVATOR, I PRESSED
THE BUTTON FOR THE HIGHEST FLOOR POSSIBLE,
THEN WALKED THE REMAINING 40 FLIGHTS OF
STAIRS. ALONG THE WAY, I PHOTOGRAPHED THE WORKMEN
WORKING, POSING AND EVEN SLEEPING.
WHEN I REACHED THE TOP FLOOR, THE 110TH,
THE CONSTRUCTION WORKERS GATHERED
TOGETHER AND POSED FOR ME. THE FOREMAN
INTRODUCED HIMSELF AND GAVE ME A HARD HAT.
I COAXED HIM TO ACCOMPANY ME TO THE APEX.
WHAT A HIGH! (THE HIGHEST POINT IN NYC).
WHEN I HEARD NOISE BELOW , I ASKED THE FOREMAN
TO HOLD MY LEGS AS I LEANED OVER THE EDGE TO
CAPTURE THE MEN ON THE SCAFFOLD, BUILDING THE
BUILDING. I ALSO WENT TO THE OTHER EDGE OF THE ROOF
AND SHOT THE LANDFILL THAT BECAME BATTERY PARK CITY.
I SHOT FIVE ROLLS OF FILM DURING ITS ERECTION.
