Dave Gibbons talks about how you can sketch things more freely when working digitally. He creates a new layer to draw Martha's face, once he has drawn in more detail he shows how the guide layer underneath can be easily deleted.
Thank you very much for guide videos like this. I hope you can provide an answer for a very odd question: I'm very lacking in confidence with my line work. They always appear dusty or messy. I find myself drawing the same line many times just to get it right. But what I'm left with is a bunch of left over scattered pixels. I just want to do clean lines so I can color freely. But I find myself erasing a lot. Am I just being too picky with my lines? I use 3 PX brush on large canvas
@thomasli No, Manga Studio shares some similarities with Photoshop, particularly with its layout and the brush and layer menus and settings, but it's a whole new ball game when it comes to making manga and comics, particularly with the paging, paneling, and toning features. It's definitely inspired by Photoshop, but it's not Photoshop. I have Manga Studio EX 4, and I highly recommend you try the Manga Studio Debut trial version and see for yourself. :)
