http://www.myclarysageomega3.com Omega 3 fatty acids are incorporated into the brain. We make them, mostly from the ALA (Alpha Linolenic Acid) plant based omega 3 oils. This is why we see almost entirely ALA, the plant based omega 3 oil in breast milk. It goes easily through the umbilical cord to help the embryo develop its brain and its other healthy functions such as reducing inflammation. ALA omega 3 fatty acids are crucial for brain development, in both the embryo and the new born baby.

This is why we see it in mother's milk in large amounts, mostly omega 3 oil from plants, the ALA. It is very important to make sure that you have enough omega 3 oils. Expecting mothers who are still breast feeding are very empowered in the production of DHA from ALA.
