As I recall, walking into town from the station involved little more than crossing the road. Regarding the wall, there's hardly any left, but yes, it was the oldest wall in Goettingen. Heine said the best view of the town was to be had as one left it. What would he have said about that monstrous tower that now spoils the skyline of my beloved old friend.

Remember walking round this with a crazed tree hugging German female ..... Had no sleep for 30 hours , needed coffee an food , made me bloody walk from the train station into town ..... Wahhh lol
