Ghost Chair Moves by Itself -- or does it?

A closer look at the footage from a Ghost Hunters episode of an alleged chair moving.

A few points to ponder...
1. Why does the light or reflected light in the doorway move to the left.

2. Listen closely seconds before the sound of the chair moving and you can hear a similar scuffing sound, just a little softer, shorter and without an echo.

3. The echo from the chair is considerably long.

4. If the chair did move it didn't move much, and certainly not enough for the amount of noise it supposedly created.

5. The investigator leaves just 9 seconds before the sound, how could he not hear it?

Real or Fake, that is up to each individuals opinion, Ghost Hunters is after all a TV program produced for entertainment. This video has been produced to raise a few questions that raise doubts but ultimately it is your choice if you believe it or not.

hey u do realize that the sound wasnt as dramatic as that in real life the sound was added in to make it more interesting they didnt add that in to fake it they do that with everything

Anything paranormal should be shown unaltered and unedited, and the moment something in this field has been edited or altered then it loses all credibility

One thing with regards to the position of the chair not appearing to move as it still fits within your parallel lines... Could this because the chair is actually moving closer to the camera? This would also account for why there is now light illuminating it as it is moving closer to the light source of the camera.

Hmm I like the show but you bring up good points. If they are hoaxers they are very very good at it.. having some friends who investigate paranormal.. what surprises me is that they go a dozen times and maybe get a few pieces of evidence.. ghost hunters get like a few every single show they do which I find is a bit much.. only thing i can say is that maybe the room with the chair was really old/empty/quiet so the echo seems legit.. but I wonder about the other points you made, makes you think..

I would like to know what the light source is that's up behind there and shifts to the left. Obviously trickery. After watching this video, it is pretty plain to see that the chair does not ever move, only the light source shifting in the background. Ghost Hunters have set back paranormal research 100 years with their staged evidence.

I got real ghost evidence of a chair moving by itself. Not only that, it happens barely at 8pm with the lights on and with people moving by it!

I'm all about the debunking. Though, here I think you've stretched a bit. The light movement could possibly be a light that automatically changes. My motion sensor at home does it. I've seen thermostats do it. There are lots of explanations. And for a room that dark, the camera will of course be trying to focus on the most significant sources of light available.

the sound before the crash didn't sound quite like the crash without the echo, but more like the chair scraping slightly on the floor. The rest of it I agree with. If it moved it either went closer or further away from the camera and there would be no cause for that prolonged crash.

the production light was definately moved...that means that someone else was up there fiddling with it..human explained phenonema

The light that moves is a flashlight or a small production light used to help reflect light on the stairs and as Grant goes down the steps he may have bumped it or the stairs ,may have been a bit unstable and Grant walking caused it to move... I know that much.
