A look at some of the suitcases on display in the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum, Oswiecim, Poland.
Please take a look at Video History Today http://www.videohistorytoday.com , the first web site to offer unique collections of re-usable original video clips designed for teachers and students.
The idea behind Video History Today is to give schools the raw material to make mini-documentaries and video essays on historical subjects.
Initial packages focus on World War I (Somme and Ieper areas), The Holocaust, the American Civil War and D-Day & Normandy 1944.
the name-calling of slizzler1, dantelacey and spadger131 informs us all that much work is ahead to break in half all of their distorted reality regarding the WW2 dissident camps of Germany. Those lost souls who incessantly repeat vicious propaganda lies do so only to serve Lucifer who made them out of the afterbirth which had seeped down the table legs on to the the tile flooring to the extreme detriment of all mankind.

You are a typical you tube hypocrite. You do the very thing you accuse others of. You tell others not to nit pick and behave in an immature way on here, yet you tell people to get a life.
By the very fact you are commenting on here and replying to other's posts, you are no better.
So I say to you, get a life and go dancing etc etc

Life is valuable and finite. To spend it nit picking on You Tube is ..........Got it? Don't answer this. I don't have the time to mess.

Thanks for the discussion. I wish I'd asked about the rule when I was at Auschwitz recently. I am curious about why they have that rule. Clearly it's not because of flash damaging the items. You're right that many places charge to take photos. I agree they should consider charging a fee for permission to film.

Take a lesson from "VideoHistory Today"... It's possible to disagree without resorting to personal attacks & rudeness. You think I'm wrong... that's YOUR opinion... don't confuse opinion with fact. By the way... we'll all be dead one day... so what was the point of that comment?

skwe....There is nothing wrong here You have your opinion and it is wrong...along with who ever made that rule. If not for this and other rule bending videos how would someone like me see this hallowed stuff. Don't say go there. I can't. Stop nitpicking and get a life. Go do something important. Get a life. Go dancing. You will be dead one day.

But I have to say you let yourself down with your last comment. The whole point of my argument is that people should see this place. How many people in the world can realistically get to Auschwitz? In the UK, 2 children per school per year get to go. YouTube and other sites allow young people to really see Auschwitz & Birkenau. As a teenager at school, I had no comprehension of Auschwitz: YouTube opens up this important site to the world. Sometimes rules have to be broken.

Overall I do agree with you: I don't like breaking rules. I am generally very pedantic about rules. I have been to many museums and not filmed or taken photographs when it is clear those are the rules of the site. In my opinion, the curators of Auschwitz have got it wrong and wrong on a massive scale. Why? I really don't know. It cannot be money as I understand there are concerns about funding but it it is still free to enter. And they do not charge when you do ask for permission to film.

You are quite right, I should raise this with the Museum. Just to be clear, I disrespect the rule makers for having this rule, not for anything about the museum itself. I like the mixed approachhs each country has to the site. I like the way it is maintained and run. I just don't understand why Auschwitz is the only Holocaust camp site I have been to with such a rule.

Now you're just playing word games. I understand your "the end justifies the means" logic. You're asking me why it's not ok to break the rules of this sacred memorial? You should be asking the museum curators why they made the rule... oh, but that's right, you already admitted you "disrespect the rule makers of the museum." Regardless of why they made the rule, it's their right to do so & I believe you should respect it. People should try to go to Auschwitz to see it for themselves.
