  • @jjaytip the reson for not running a gui though is increased server performance, cause my game server rarely lags when no gui is present.

  • Nice tutorial, but I have just one question. Is it a coincidence that you're talking in a really soft voice and your system clock says 3:30 AM?

  • You can get a gui in ubuntu server by running:

    sudo aptitude install x-window-system-core gnome-core

that eliminates the point of running ubuntu server

His video just says "ubuntu" not "ubuntu server"

you can run a file server from a standard version of ubuntu 10.10

I have one on my network and it runs great:)

  • Please can u explain how did u get the graphical images of UBUNTU server ? As far as I know server doesn't have any GUI version.

  • great tutorial! very helpful!! i have a question tho, is there anyway to uninstall samba so i can start over. im new to ubuntu and think i messed something up with permissions

  • über 1000 views und keiner bedankt sich mal für die hilfe ?

ich sage mal danke dafür ;)
