Michael J. Germain, M.D., Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, and Medical Director, Renal Transplantation at Baystate Medical Center, will present "Why Renal Palliative Care is Relevant to Other Chronic Disease States" on February 14, 2013.

The lecture will focus on understanding the high symptom burden of end stage renal disease patients, appreciating the high mortality of elderly chronic kidney disease patients, and describing the treatment approach to poor-prognosis chronic kidney disease patients.

Presented by the U of L Division of Nephrology.
