The Marshalls Creek bypass project should be completed on time, in late 2012, according to Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The project, which is intended to improve traffic flow in the village of Marshalls Creek and surrounding areas, is in its third and final phase, and unlike some other PennDOT projects, hasn't been thrown off course this year by the heavy rains that have pummeled the Poconos, Young said.
Laborers recently started work on the deck of a bridge that will span Leaps Bog, near Mount Nebo Road. The bridge is one of the larger features of the $18.2 million bypass project.
The base of the entire road should be installed by 2012. Once it is installed, paving work will begin.
