I'VE MADE A NEW BLUE SHELL DODGE VIDEO! It's 100% better than this one, with better quality video, more clips, and a tutorial on dodging shells. You should probably watch that one, but if for some reason you want to watch this one, go ahead.

11 video clips of blue/spiny shell dodging, made using Windows Movie Maker and a really crappy cell phone camera. Sorry about the quality.

What you do to dodge shells is start powersliding once you see an opponent has launched a shell. Once its hovering above you, you should have red sparks. You'll see it begin its drop, and at that moment you should let go of your powerslide and start powersliding again into your turn. (That is, if you were powersliding to the left, let go and start powersliding again with your finger pushing down on the left button.) If all goes well, the shell will dive to late and hit the ground, by which time you will be far enough away to escape the explosion.

yes, its possible but its just a lot harder because carts go slower in WiFi (its 100cc, not 150 like these videos).

this video sux ass compared to my new one, you should watch that one instead. The clips are higher quality and are recorded DURING the race, not during the replay so you can see the correct timing a little better. It also has a tutorial.

^_^ Ty... Just practice alot on vs. 150cc and you'll eventually get it, just remember to keep holding down the DPad when you try to hop away from the shell, that is the problem I see a lot of my friends have with this.

The point of this vid is not to show off l33t blue shell dodging skillz, but rather to give some examples of shell dodging. A forum I visit gets a topic a day asking "how do u dodge blue shells" and the best anyone can come up with is to drop a bomb behind their kart, so I link them to this video.

And no shit it's against the AI, try holding a camera phone while playing MK on WiFi (if I had a cam with tripod that took videos > 15 seconds then I could probably do that).
