When On The Path to Sustainable Change, those with an intention for change must inspire others to connect to their cause. People are inspired by why you are doing something. They will rally to a cause when those respect and trust invite them, and when they feel the cause is about them.

We have a chosen a few of our favorite TED Speakers to amplify these points and provide insight into how to create a movement for sustainable change. When speaking to owners of change intentions, we often show these clips to inspire next steps on the path.

As you watch, consider what will help you connect people to your cause (Part 1):

Clip 1: Brene Brown studies human connection -- our ability to empathize, belong, love. In a poignant, funny talk at TEDxHouston, she shares a deep insight from her research, one that sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity.

Clip 2: Chade-Meng Tan, Google's head of personal growth, talks about how the company practices compassion in its everyday business -- and its bold side projects.
