  • How do you recommend storing the dehydrated things for long term storing?

  • @sarahfarrar1 I vacuum seal the things I've dehydrated in jars because they tend to have sharp edges that can puncture bags.

  • Great comparison video. I will try rehydrating my peas and see what they do. My broccoli works great. But have not tried the peas yet. Have you tried spraying your apples and bananas with lemon juice before dehydrating? It keeps them from turning brown. On youtube here dehydrate2store is all about dehydrating and she has some great tips. I learned alot from that channel. Thanks again for doing your videos. Looking forward to watching more.

  • @n2viewing Yesterday I dehydrated some canned peas, corn and green beans. The peas and corn turned out great. They rehydrate so much better than the dehydrated frozen ones. The green beans didn't work. I thought I'd turn some of my canned goods into long term storage before they reach their "best by" date. I've used Fruit Fresh on apples and bananas and found it didn't help much. I think the browning doesn't bother me as much as lemon juice would.

  • What kind of peas did you use when you dehydrated yours? I used frozen ones (got em on sale) and they did not turn out so dark and shriveled. They were not like the freeze dried ones.....I have not tried eating them yet. Thanks for all your vids!

  • @CHEECHAKOSMONTANA I used frozen peas too.

  • Frezze Dried is alot better, but you must buy the food already frozen. They don't have freezedryers for home unless you rich.

  • Tip I just learned from dehydrate2store: When you cut fruits and veggies (specifically bananas), use a stainless steel blade/knife, and they won't turn brown! Hope it helps! ; p

  • freeze dried is superior every time,, because the freeze dry process, the water sublimates, or turns to gas and all of the enzymes and vitamins are intact and is the closes you can get to fresh
