@therleyt very true, Stanwyck, Dunne, you just believe for for that one to two hour long movie that thy are that character. Wonderful! Dunne was spectacular in Back Street, Love Affair and Penny Serenade!

@therleyt I so agree with you - loved this film, and Barbara Stanwyck was not only a very gifted actress, she has such a classic and sophisticated beauty that one does not see very often, if at all, nowadays. Her gestures, poise and voice are classic!

C'mon..... what detective is going to announce who the identity of a witness to a crime. And since when is it appropriate for a landlord to enter a tenents furnished apartment without his knowledge in hopes to rent another unit. I generally enjoy Stanwick and Sanders but this movie was lame on so many levels.
