  • Hi. Some great footage of the 92nd. One thing I noticed was the B-17 shown between 3:04 and 3:11 appears to have the Triangle-Y tail marking. This belongs to the 97th BG who were in Italy as part of the 15th AF. I dont know enough to say why the 92nd and 97th appear in the same group of clips - but I know B-17s were swapped between groups in 1942. If you could find a mission in Italy that both groups were on, you may be able to date this, or identify which raid this was.

  • @Hanglands Hi thank you for this very important information I will check with the Doc Furniss records and WW2 notes, o yes Doc Furniss was a flight surgeon in the 92nd Bomb Group.

    Kind Regards T.C.

  • The B17 is still the best plane, I just love it and if I was rich I would own two of them. I would park them in Warrington, Burtonwood (UK) in a hanger. I would name one of them, "Black Swan". Sorry just day dreaming again.

  • Great vid, sounds like your background music from the game Theme Hospital lol. Really great vid seeing B17's in the air

  • B17-G's... the Best! I crawled through a resotred B17 a few years ago. took my daughter...

It's hard to imagine what those brave men endured on their missions. Thank God they did.

I met a very old gentleman who had been a B-17 side-gunner..he had lied about his age..flew over Berlin at the age of 17. He said a lot of his frineds did that..lied to get into the fight.

    Thanks for this wonderful video..

  • those who resort to abusive language are the one,s who dont have courage to hear the truth

  • @boneheadvideo my dad also was in 388th, but was on pass for the poltava mission.

  • @mbs169 how about the men and women risking thier life's in iraq and afghanistan..

  • @traceynorthernstar I agree, the right music could add impact to these clips, period music is a must for archive footage.

  • I LIKE the Supermarket Music
