The world's hardest computer repair is BGA Reballing, this fixes the common problems with BGA chipsets "Ball Grid Array" otherwise known as Reballing to revive bad video chips, like GPUs, CPUs that are embdedded into the motherboard. • I have the same 898 station. Is it possible to do this with just hot air, or should I save up for the ir station too?

  • @maynardr6 Yes you can, but you'll need a motherboard bottom heater to provide heat from the bottom or the chip won't budge. something like PUHUI T-8280 and you'll need a nozzle for the hot air to cover the chip, which matches the size of the chip then you're good to go.

  • u're cool again and so cool all the time

  • @shogotmty he will never reply he considered these basics things as secret of the trade believe reballing is easy u can learn it if u buy the reballing station directly from the manufacture this will provide training to you

  • 1000pound for a complete training course is cheap

  • im from germany.... my english is very poor..

the main problem on the NVIDIA G86 GPU is not the solderballs. The solderballs are the secondray issue. The Main issue is the Bonding of the Die(or dy, dye).

If you reball it, make sure you go 215 Celsius with holding time about 10sec to get the bonding fixed too. with this method i experienced a 3month living hp dv6000 !!with jammed!! cooling system. The main problem on ATI GPU is that they use 0,5mm Balls, they cant handle the thermal stress.

  • £1000 to train you how to reball? your having a fucking laugh

  • great video and is very educational.

  • lol, "thnx for watching my 10 minute video".... looks at time, the vid is 15 minutes.

  • u found it on the streets? only the motherboard or does it also have other pieces like the casing, hdd, dvd, something like that.

  • If the laptop has a separate graphics chip will never use NB for displaying graphics in any conditions

  • You said that if your using external monitor, you are actually using the northbridge and not the GPU? then I supposed you use different driver for it? Any reference material to prove it? AFAIK it uses the same chip even when you're using the on board monitor(LCD)or the external monitor. Please enlighten me! Thanks for the great Video!
