I love Anne Shelton's unique voice & she made some of her best recordings with Bert Ambrose, who had a gift for spotting exceptional, young, female vocalists. From the first note of anything she sings, it can't be anyone else. Has anyone an uploadable recording of a rare but beautiful number sung by Anne Shelton entitled "Taxidriver Serenade"? I possessed one but it was destoyed and I've never found it again?

I was born in 1954 and I think Ann Shelton's version of Amapola is the first one I remember hearing as a child. She has such a wonderful, deep velvety voice and she was heard regularly on BBC radio.

She even sang a train schedule in a Arther Askey movie and made it sound great.
Very glad this version was in English, Deanna Durbin was in Spanish, I don't speak or understand Spanish
