I love wing chun. I took it for 7 years. It dosent work in real combat but thats just me. If it works for you in real combat great. But as a martial art its amazing and fun to learn. I took JKD for a year but it wasent a good school. Basically kick boxing with some Bong Sao mixed in. The Sifu is very good and relaxed in his movements. However Bruce Lee would be annoyed by the JKD guy. You should never telegraph your punches even in sparring. Other then that I liked this video. Both guys had fun.

Wing chun guys like a mirror, just following the other guys hands. I love the way he's cycling through different moves rather than just staying in the regular man sao wu sao guard.

wow! the guy look pretty good on Wing Chun!!

@houseofaction That's correct, sorry it took me a while to comment back.

That JKD guy is not being as mobile as he should... Wing Chun's weakness is it's lack of mobility. so, it makes more snse to fight with quick foot work which is both balanced and fast.

I remember reading a story or something and one of Bruce Lee's students said:
"JKD is the best!"
BL said, "Oh yeah? I'm going to fight you with nothing but Karate techniques."
Bruce Lee then proceeded and beat his student, and followed up with philosophy like the one you quoted.

HURRAY for Wing Tsun; but at 1:10 you guys start going for real a bit, or at least increase speed yet you make no contact. If the speed is slow like a turtle then contact is not necessary, but if you go THIS fast you better be wearing gear+padding and make 50-70% power. Otherwise all you are doing is training and conditioning yourself not to hit somebody.

wing chun guy is not moving forward first, he is chasing hands

I'm afraid to say, but this is horrible JKD. =D
Try to understand more about the principles, and do more real sparring, so you'll understand. "nearest weapon closest target", "no telegrafing", "economy of motion", and lots of things, you have to learn and practise, because that's what JKD is about.
Nevermind, the trapping was kind of good.
But i can't really judge just by watching this video. I have to see this in real sparring. =D
find your kung fu! =)
Bruce would be incredibly disappointed in your bickerings of what the better fighting style is. "When one has reached maturity in the art, one will have a formless form. It is like ice dissolving in water. When one has no form, one can be all forms; when one has no style, he can fit in with any style."
