Another selection of pre-war tin trains. Trains from what I would call the Classic Era of toy trains, tin, lithography, brite colors, simple and durable.

  • Thanks for posting. Love the Dorfan freights. I have a number of them and I pull 'em with a Lionel 150 or a Lionel 152 - they look good behind the early Lionel electrics. Thanks for the videos!

  • Thanks.

I do have a Dorfan 51 that looks Ok on the outside, but the inner motor and axle mounts turned to powder a long time ago. Some day it will get re-motored with a Marx DR unit and turned into a runner.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I also have the 1666 in black. I find it interesting both Marx & Lionel made 1666's and they both made them in gray and black.

  • Hi George,

Another great video and some interesting sets which I recognize from my youth. I have 4 items that you show, the Lionel 1666 only mine is black and the three passenger cars with an engine simular to the one pulling them. Just love your videos and collection. Thanks!!
