It's not bad at all. Horror stories are almost certainly exaggerated, as long as you know what you are doing.

I'm not going to overclock. I've heard loads of Horror stories about Blue screens and PC's faltering

You can overclock the 7970 better than the 680 I think. So you get more performance (or at the very least, the same performance) for less money with the 7970.

IMO

it depends, the higher Vram on the 7970 is really meant for high resolution, (above HD I chose my 7950 because of 2560x1440) but the 680 is great for HD gaming, but its far more expensive. they kinda equal eachother after HD

Ghz edition? Never heard of it. I decided to get GTX 680 instead, thanks for the help though :)

well the 680 is i tiny bit faster, however if you get the 7970 ghz edition, you will be able to enjoy far greater framerates than the gtx 680 :)

I'm wondering which video card I should get, A GTX 680 or a Radeon 7970 HD. The GTX 680 gets higher FPS. Which one should I get? Nice, I wanna work in the technology industry as well :)
