Rodeo people claim to love their animals. If that's true, why do they haul their bucking horses in cruel and dangerous double-decker trailers?

  • Um, all the broncs, I mean ALL the broncs at the NFR this year were huge. 16plus hands. Not enough room, but hey, who cares? Plenty more where they came from, back at the "ranch"! If you keep a horses' head lower than is natural for him during transport, you make it very difficult for him to clear fluid build-up in his respiratory system. Horses can easily get sick during transport, hello, shipping fever?? Let them be shipped comfortably at least! It's the LEAST you could do, rodeo. Pony UP!

  • @AnimalLeftist This is one of the 'modified' style trailers Cindy Schonholtz, PRCA animal 'welfare' coordinator says is 'adequate' for 15HH horses to ride in. 71-75" floor to ceiling.

  • @SHARKonlineorg, adequate, I guess, when the horse is headed for slaughter. When the horse is being "cared for" at the rodeo?? Sick. This is adequate, as Apalachian Chief's "care" was adequate. TOTALLY inadequate.

Sure looks EXACTLY like a slaughter truck to me. 15 hands is 60 inches. As I mentioned, broncs are getting bigger, not smaller. 16 hands is 64 inches. A whole foot to raise their head. Not nearly enough.

  • @AnimalLeftist It is already illegal for double decks to be used for slaughterbound horses here in the US. Of course, rodeo stock contractors are still fighting that one. However, they do get around it because of the loophole in the law basically says direct to slaughter; stops at pens and yards means they can jam in as many horses in dd's as they want, and they do.

  • YOU ARE A DUMB ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHUT UP!!!!

  • @forthecowboys LOL. If you don't like hearing how rodeo abuses the animals, do something about it instead of criticizing those working to help the animals.

  • @SHARKonlineorg, good old loopholes. "direct to slaughter" indeed. If the stock contractor has any rodeo roughstock ready to be directly dead, how handy it is for them! sad.

  • @forthecowboys : have you ever looked into a mirror? :) well maybe you should once in your life and call yourself a dumb ass!!

  • @richm1968 6' isn't very high for any of the taller horses, like my 17 hand gelding. He would be hating life if he had to be hauled all over the place in those conditions. He's a saddle bred with a high head carriage. My 16 hand paint gelding would be uncomfortable, too. When the stretches, his head lifts high and a long trip would do him in, as well. My little spotted walking horse could handle the height. Are rodeo horses little? Do big cowboys ride little horses?

  • @richm1968 ""Those trailers are taller than that also."" Taller than what? The actual, real trailer that's in the video?
