Halo 3 - Bubble Shield = Power Drain?

I was playing 1 v 1 with a friend of mine at 2 AM so we were very tired. While playing, I find myself in a harry situation. My friends approaching fast and I don't have anything to counter him with, except the bubble shield right next to me.
I make a dash for it, swap it out and deploy it. To my surprise, a power drain was deployed. Now I'm thinking that I'm really tired, so I walk back over the bubble shield spawn and pick it up, and deploy it again. Again, a power drain comes out with a bubble shield no where in sight.

nope. It just glitched and the bubble shield somehow became a power drain, but it wasn't a mod. I was party leader and I set it to default slayer on default Blackout. Only thing I changed was the player color, starting weapons and damage multiplier (barely)
