Macedonian American Artist Blagojce Stojanovski speaks at the 3rd Annual United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) Global Conference Gala on Saturday, June 25, 2011 about his first public showing of the mural "Double Holocaust."
Blagojce can be contacted through his website at http://www.blagoart.com/
Taken from the Brochure produced for the showing:
For the first time ever, Macedonian artist Blagojce reveals his 32 x 7 feet oil on linen mural Double Holocaust at United Macedonian Diaspora's 3rd Annual Global Conference in Washington, D.C to honor and celebrate Macedonia's 20 years of independence.
There are very few artists in the past and present who have the ability and talent to reach a level whereby their work is recognized without their signature, "Blagojce" is one of those elite few who has achieved such recognition. Blagojce's Double Holocaust series exemplifies the experiential bond between Macedonians and Israelis. The horse symbolizes both peoples' indomitable spirit in the face of subjugation and denial. Artists such as Blagojce, Picasso, Salvador Dali, Franz Marc, Ivan Mestrovic, Delacroix, Leonardo DaVinci, Tiepolo, and Praxitele have introduced unique, masterful styles to the art world throughout the centuries. However, they share a keen focus on equestrian imagery in their most intimate pieces. Each artist represents the horse differently, yet all imbue their pieces with great style, technique, and passion.
The Macedonian and Israeli spirits come alive in Blagojce's work, which depicts Macedonia and Israel's timeless struggles for freedom and survival.
