D-air glitch

Copy from Smashboards.com :

D-air Stall (Toon Link, ZSS, Shiek, G&W; any character with a similar d-air)
How to Perform: After being knocked into the air, do a Double Jump and a D-air at the exact same time.
Effect: Character will execute a D-air and get stuck in the air. Neither moving upward nor downward, the character stays at the same altitude until the D-air expires. However, you can DI horizontally during this time to influence the direction of your fall.

Well, I think I gotta put some words in.

Firstly, I do not consider myself as a "pure" SSBB player, I'm mainly a Street Fighter player and I do not really appreciate SSBB. I had never imagined even one second that such a ridiculous video recorded with a cheap TV card and a hacked/unperfect version (as you can see, it is running on a 50hz PAL Wii and the damages are cut off) would have so much success (this is the most watched video of my account).

Nevertheless, I found this "glitch" like one week after the launch of the game (just watch when I uploaded this video), and the main idea was to show it to some of my friends and the French community.

Concerning the nature of this technique, I think it is more an effect related to Brawl's physics (like the compensation of the two forces, just like Lucas's Zap Jump), but I still believe this wasn't on the devs' mind. Glitch or not, I do not believe anyone could really tell, so many games do have glitches that we can hardly call glitch.

Thanks for watching my video, please have a look to my other videos, since I do not really put any heart in doing videos for SSB.

  • I think the DI is the most useful part of the glitch. But messing up your opponent's timing isn't too bad either.

  • this is more stupid video game physics than it is a glitch. stupid video.

  • thumbs up if it reminds you of the black hole glitch from melee

  • lol that happens to zero suit too

  • How do you do that??

  • @sinester306 That makes no sense at all. And you lie about how the creators made it this way. Where's your proof?

However, I agree that it has to do with the game's physics being wacky. In other words, a glitch.

  • It's not called the plunge it's called the down thrust and too link is my favorite/best character this is no glitch it's something the game creators made so that toonlink has a fair recovery chance that's why first he goes fast than kinda slow than doesn't move down because if someone hit u up high it would make him very cheap and this game uses physics a lot and this was apart of physics somehow idk about the physics part but ya to make him fair xD

  • @captinawesomesauce finisher,thats what its called..

  • @shadowlink301 you mean "Down Stab?"
