  • Big reason why these 2 year olds don't stay sound...

  • webkinz210, no, she wasnt 5. all horses in the kentucky derby MUST be three years old. it makes it really dangerous to them and i dont understand why thy cant make the age reqirment higher. eight bells was just a baby when she died in the derby.

  • the second horse sounds like an airplane, LOL

  • @craisydazy18 oh ok... thanks ^^

  • @gypsydreamer09 race horses have different levels of gallop. Breezing is the fastest galloping speed, most often it's a bit slower than racing speed. It is the point where the rider ceases to feel the hoof beats any longer. The sensation is smoothness. The sensation is smooth and effortless on a good horse. You usually do not hear anything but the horse’s breath and your own.

  • so, i got a question, I don't get what Breezing is, they train for it, but idk what it really is, someone wanna help me on that plz? lol

  • @fifthavenuegirl Please before you go saying bad things about the sport, learn more about it. People come on here and say things before they even know enough. If you spent a day with a trainer you would change your mind.

  • @Aramadene Thank you, all of the people who complain about the sport, are people who don't even know enough about it. They should get to know the sport before they say anything bad about the sport. It's a great game and the horses get the best care in the world. They often live as long if not longer than the average barn horse.

  • @JimSpoor But a lot of them do.

  • yea i agree these horses love racing and if they dont , they arent raced..... some people are selfish in the racing business, but alot arent and they care about them

  • The comments on this isn't fair are slightly annoying. These horses are bred to run. They love it. Yes I understand they can get injured and hurt on the race track. But horses can get injured just as easily at home in a pasture or a stall. And the winning race horses are the ones that run because they love it. Yes their trainers and owners may push their limits. They aren't forced to win. Forcing a horse to win/run would only end in a sour animal. The great ones, they do it because they love it.

  • @monkeymangonewild If you beat them and put them in pain until they run, then year I suppose you could force them to run. And no using the whip in races isn't beating them, it's equal to giving them a kick like any horse rider would do, except jockeys can't. But at the racetrack and training farms they don't do that. The key to a good horse is to treat them well.
