Craic Wisely wins the 1st ever Celtic Battle of the Bands Finale with an energetic 40 minute set on Saturday, July 22, 2006 on the E-Park Stage at the Ionia Free Fair! This Grand Rapids MI, USA based Celtic Rock Group won the support of faithful and newly converted "Craic Heads," (as their fans are known!)Young and old got out of their chairs and cheered for Craic Wisely and approved the judge's unanimous decision to award the trophy to this fantastic Celtic Rock Band! I'd love to get Flogging Molly to play in Ionia, but simply can't afford them... You are right, absolutely great band, but a bit cost prohibitive for a regional Battle of the Bands!!! (Besides, who would want to compete with them??? They're one of the best!)

Twas a great day for Celtic Rock Music, and while my little camera simply can't capture the sound, the music was far better than these poor videos could ever do justice! A large part of the excitement that day was the sheer entertainment brought to the stage by everyone involved with Craic Wisely... Both Timmy, and Jonathon are greatly missed by the "Craic Heads!" and the Craic Wisely on that stage, was the band we will always cherish! (The current one's not bad either, just not the same!!!)

speaking as a former member of the band (that's me in the Red Sox jersey stage left), this is definitely a case of you-had-to-be-there. Bill's a good cameraman, but his hardware is somewhat limited, so the quality doesn't really suggest what we sounded like that day. besides, are you even listening to the mandolin licks? damn can timmy play.

Obviously, the video doesn't do the live performance any justice... Possibly it could be because both of the first two songs were original and unfamiliar to those of you posting negative comments!?! For the record, it was the battle of the "Celtic" bands, so maybe you aren't familiar with Irish/Celtic Rock.... These guys are huge in Michigan, as well as getting a lot of airtime in Canada, Chicago and Florida. There current CD is being produced by the same guy that mastered a couple of U2's CD's
