December 18, 2009 saw the public as the initiatives of the Governments NKRA. For those who are still unaware, the NKRA (National Key Results Area) is core in developing a more vibrant and enriched Malaysia while being as transparent as a sheer cloth. The six key areas identified in the NKRA are affordable education; prevention of crime; reducing corruption; addressing poverty; upgrading infrastructure particularly in rural areas; and better public transportation all critical in achieving the Government Transformation Programme (GTP).
Following the event on December 18, a second event was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on the 28 and 29 of January. Same old same old but the only thing different was the presence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak together with the head of the six lead ministries for the NKRAs in launching the 1Malaysia Government Transformation Programme Roadmap. The Roadmap, which is to aid in attaining the ambitious Vision 2020 outlines the six prescribed NKRAs thus further demonstrating transparency and accountability...
