Tigers Nest, Bhutan..... The Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet.... A Tibetin Home... Tigers Nest was a journey! We started at just over 8000 ft and climbed to 10,000 ft.
I did include some shots of me.... :-0... I'm not very photogenic..... My unusual outfits are due to dress requirements for entrance into the monasteries and the hot, humid climates.... The monasteries required almost total coverage, so I wore the tights on the hikes and carried the skirt and long sleeve shirts in my pack to change into.
My contorted poses are due to balancing on the edge at times.....and in one I'm licking my severely chapped lips...which didn't show up on the small screen... :-) Oh well....
Yes, out of respect and courtesy, I did accept tea in several kitchens much like the one in the picture......
Unfortunately it was forbidden to take pictures in the monasteries. The music is from - Jubeus: Two Tone Circles - Sunshine Lady....a band my friend and I found in a bar, on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. The rest of the CD is just as awesome!
Enjoy!

  • wouldn't exactly simply refer to Jubeus as a "bar band". I think they'll be quite big in a year or so once the new single catches on.

the first Cd was good but their second album is nothing short of spectacular. their new video "Silence" is here on youtube. check it out. great stuff

  • awesome! Thanks! I am a greaat fan of both cd's and I'm very excited to hear they have a single out!

  • nice one! please put some more if you do have. keep up your great job.

  • Thank you! I do have 2 more posted...titled "The People" And "Kathmandu"

  • I think their great!! Gary has never seen them except in pics....

  • Knowing what they are, it's hard to look at them as junk. I think they're pretty cool.

  • I wondered......Gary hates ther prayer flags...he thinks it junks up the country side...

  • ahahahahahaha.... that was a joke...!

  • Those are Bhudist prayer flags. Each flag has a aprayer written prevuiously only by Monks. Each coloe r srtands for a diferent prayer. The belief is , as they flap in the winf the prayers travel over the earth.
