Before launching her own line of couture clothes, Carolyn Roehm worked with Oscar de la Renta. The author of five previous books, she divides her time among her exquisite homes in New York City, Paris, and Connecticut, all of which are frequently featured in the media.

Carolyne Roehm (born Carolyne Jane Smith) in 1985 married Henry R. Kravis (born 1944) "The same year my dad was born! American business financier and investor, notable for co-founding and heading the leading private equity firm, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR). With an estimated current net worth of around $5.5 billion, he is ranked by Forbes as the 69th richest person in the world. Carolyn and Kravis home was decorated by the couple Robert Denning and Vincent Fourcade and was parodied in the 1990 movie "The Bonfire of the Vanities (film)".

"Francisco Medavogs collection started off as a small sampling of some European couture designs to help him study FASHION design. By looking at the French seams and other intricacies, he learned about couture construction through the true masters of design. This hobby quickly became a collection of more than 25,000 fashion items, primarily 20th century European designs, with a number of them extending back to the 1920s and 30s.

"At first, I didn't quite understand why so many people were interested in seeing these clothes," says Francisco. "For me, the clothes were simply great examples of what I was able to study while at the Fashion Institute. Now, I feel that my collection is the beginning of a wonderful museum collection."

"I'd love to open the first American Fashion Museum, devoted solely to fashion and couture, similar to Zandra Rhodes' museum in London."
