Actually to be fair Geraldo's point isn't wrong it is just fucking badly stated. What he should have said was "We have some ignorant people in this world who will assume the worse about you because of what you wear regardless of how ridiculous it is for them to do such. The hoodie made Trayvon look like a criminal in the eyes of Zimmerman so we need to examine the sort of stimuli in the media that leads to these ignorant preconceived notions" that would have been the way to broach that topic
