Just a few simple ideas for slip decoration inside a few bowls.
The slip is just normal clay slip with different metal oxides added to give a different underglazed colour.
There's no exact recipe ,just trial and error until you add enough oxide to give you your desired colour.

  • Thank you for sharing your professional secrets. I live in Siberia and you may put a mark on your ''subscribers map''

  • I have a question, and comment.. The question is about your slip.. I have watched a good portion of your videos and in seeing you do the slip it appears fairly liquid in form. My present teacher suggests it be in a consistency of yogurt, but that looks much more liquid in form, would that be correct?

    I must thank you. I watched your video on making the udu drum, loved it so much I had to try it!! Thank you!

    Do you have a website showing finished products?

  • question, you apply the slip and then you use a clear glaze so you can see the slip or do you combine the slip with a colored glaze?

  • In my experience, 1% of cobalt carbonate gives a rich dark blue; 8% red iron oxide + 5% manganese dioxide, + 1% cobalt gives black;

    8-10 % copper carbonate gives green (in oxidising conditions)

    All the above in a white ball clay base

  • nice
