Asurada cares for the safety of the driver. Ogre plays to win, even if it kills the driver.
Which is why Ogre can go over the limit and even sacrifice itself(engine overheat/possible explosion) to give Kaga the Extra Boost at the end.

the writer/artist who created this was brilliant. i believe this anime was out in the 1990s. Search "Red Bull X1" or x2010 the car really look like orgre or asuruda
