A Trailer for a documentary film I made in 2001.
Dean Olds had it all, A wife, children, and a great job as a partner in a Chicago law firm.
Then one day his wife is found beaten to death in the driveway.
In the coming weeks it is discovered Dean was leading a double life. He was sending the families money to a boyfriend overseas.

  • What happened to Dean Olds? I remember reading maybe 10 years ago that he was a paralegal at a law firm in Southern California. Is he still a paralegal?

  • @sbtbfanatic not sure. have heard from him in like 10 years. could be dead by now?

  • Most people will never know that Dean before this tragedy provided start-up money and education funds for both young mean and women, and wanted nothing in return but for them to succeed. Unfortunately most did not but a few did.

  • I can imagine it must have been heart breaking for his wife, and his children, to find out that Dean was gay, and not only gay, but his male relationships were of the escort variety. In some ways this reminds me of the Amy Fisher story, except that I do not think Dean encouraged this. I know some will say if you lay with the dogs, you get fleas! I'm not forgetting that his wife was murdered but its a tragedy all the way around.

  • I can't believe that Dean would do such a thing! Dean helped me back in 87 when I was going to school. Hofer who knows?

What I can't understand is how Dean could associate with this man after his wifes murder? I guess it must be denial?

Anyone who spent anytime with Dean Olds knows he was a sweet, kind hearted man. The only flaw in the man was his closeted secret life, which among men his age was common. Not saying it was right, just that he grew up in a different era.
