  • this didn't help.... sorry... if you could make a video of someone putting the hour glass block together that would be awesome!!

    thanks

  • @interpdeb Will keep that in mind for a video, thanks for the suggestion. Best of luck with your quilting!

  • my favorite block is the hour glass. i have the book but i don't understand how you are putting it together.... i feel stupid.

  • @interpdeb The center square is a 4-patch that must be folded in a specific way so the pieces come out in the correct position. The background squares each have a layered triangle placed on top before anything is sewn together. To make the triangle you fold a square in half diagonally so you get a bias edge going from corner to corner on the background square.Position a dark triangle on a light square for 2 backgrounds and vice versa, then pull the curve and topstitch it down.

  • This looks like Quilting Origami!

  • @MsGoldenugget That's funny...and true!

  • @BrooklynNaomee I am a visual learner as well.Have you tried going to a sewing center to ask for additional advice and demonstration? Some of them carry the books and are very helpful.

  • I bought your book and LOVE how my quilt came out. I would like to practice the "extra centers" you have on the "Golden Harvest" quilt but I don't understand the pictures and directions. Seems like no matter how I sew it it's going to be wrong. Do you have a video (or will you make one?) so I can see it. I'm a visual learner and need to see it in action. Please and thank you.

  • @stephaniejoypowell You are welcome Stephanie, glad you can put the technique to use.

  • Very clever, and original too. I think it is a great innovation as I don't have the time to spend hours quilting. Thank you.
