Ford's ambitious plug-in hybrid program with Southern California Edison took a big step forward in early December 2007 when a PHEV Escape was given to SCE representatives at EVS23. This is part 1 of that event.
Southern California Edison is a disgrace. They speak of diversity but they are far from embracing true diversity. In my video S.C.E. Slave Company Edison you can get a look inside of Edison and see their true actions against African Americans.
The hybrid system in the Escape and Fusion was fully engineered by Ford. It's licensed from Toyota for copyright reasons, as both share the same idea (powersplit eCVT) and have similar designs.
Hey ford, you forgot to mention that you license the Hybrid technology in your ford escape from Toyota. Now, moving forward, why are you still in the testing phase, what you mean is that you're really in the "take as long as you possibly can to release this Plug in Hybrid technology to the mainstream market as possible". The batteries were ready ten years ago, so get with the program and mass produce the plug-in Hybrid technology now. by the way, were are the solar panels? should be on the roof.
Don't make another Pinto mistake. Please make this with large format nickel metal hydride batteries. Sue Chevron for sequestering and suppressing them just when we need them most. Nickel batteries made in the early 1900's still work today 100 years later. Short lived Lithium will be one big worthless brick I would not want to have to replace in my car. Don't make the transition from electric only mode unnoticeable. As a PHEV buyer I want to know when I begin to consume gas!
