September 29, 2010 - Monsoon Thunderstorm Sunset

After a bust chase day with little potential for severe storms, I headed back home to a stunning sunset! A decent thunderstorm which had played out over the mountains moved westward and was just to my north. Beautiful rain curtains filled the landscape during sunset...It was simply amazing! In the opening clip there is a rainbow...the only significant capture from my actual chase!
There were also a couple lightning strikes behind the rain curtains on the cell moving west away from the mountain region.

Thank you for this I live in Southwest Riverside County from 9/29/10-10/2/10 we were hit by severe monsoons over this way which lasted anywhere between 4 hrs and 12.

@1978MikeyP Thanks for watching!! I still recall those days quite well...Certainly a busy few days we all had for storms! Really interesting to see some of them popping up so early in the morning too, especially on 10/1!

Many KUDOs that you had a ripe Tstorm season this year....and so did I....we just might get even more late-season Tstorms later this week...I'll be ready to videotape and upload. BTW..I've just uploaded yet another video of my driving along..and how I got my camcorder mounted on the car's dashboard....real unique way of having that done....as I too made myself a ''windshield mount''..
