Here´s a terrific version of Jackie Wilson´s song. I am convinced Jackie W would have loved it. Recorded in 1965, from the LP "PJ Proby".

  • daisymocc12 You are foolish, silly and dont know a damn thing about Music, ignorant stupid and also entitled to your very wrong opinion... I guess, YOU along with others in your "Group" believe- that you even begin to know anything, sorry you are so wrong. and P.J. Proby does a really fing job on this song, but use your brain, stop doggin' Jackie Wilson- You have no idea, class or taste, & cant see Perfection & true talent in Mr. Wilson, show some respect for the Dead, what a DOPE-MM

  • Very good, very good.

  • @Dee530 here here, why do they even come on here if they hate Proby. Proby is a damn fine singer and a legend, a living still performing one at that :D

  • @Mickeslina The league that is played on a sunday morning in a local park, most probably. If I believed in censorship I'd probably have it banned, it's so awful. :-)

  • @Mickeslina

But let's not ignore his 'contained' moments. No acrobatic glissando's, no psychopathic screamings in Rain on snow, Some enchanted evening, If I ruled the world, You've come back, I've got my eyes on you (why wasn't this one a huge HIT??). In these renditions he showed his equality with Matt Monroe, Andy Williams, Perry Como, Tony Bennett. If you grow tired of Jim's vocal antics, there's always these velvet songs. I wished he recorded more of them. More Bacharach, for instance.

  • @dedeurs Apart from the fact that I, despite what you say, definitely prefers Proby's version, I couldn't have said it better myself.

Yes, Proby is in a leauge of his own.

  • Another fantastic song from PJ

  • Hello! Where has this guy been all of my life? Well, I"m glad I finally found him.

I will be making up for lost time. WOW!!! What a voice!
