Here's something I'm wondering, is his american accent bad, or am I just so used to his Scottish and English ones?
-
It reminds me of Eric Bana's accent a little; definitely forced and maybe a teeny bit whiny. Would have loved to see him on a successful American network show, though--in his natural accent, of course.

@vidaliadear Yeah, American TV for the most part is rubbish anyway. I hardly ever watch it for that reason (usually only if there's something decent on BBC America).
-
@gateaudujour yea i feel like he forces it too much

i dont think his accent is necessarily bad...there certainly are words that come through as very forced though, like 'hired' at @0:05. but there are lots of english, scottish, etc actors who have even worse american accents.
i think a big reason it comes off forced is that everyones used to his natural voice and his english accent. if you had never heard his natural voice, i dont know if it wouldnt be a believable american. i mean, theres americans who talk in weird affected ways...

I think this would have gone for an interesting series. I only knew of this because of David Tennant, but I honestly do think that this is an interesting plot when I read up on it and that it would have gone well. And more, I think his accent is amazing. A shame that they didn't follow up on this. It could have been really interesting.

kay honestly i love everything about david tennant, but this is one thing i don't, his american accent. It just sounds like it could slip into scottish at any second.

@geniusABBY that movie gave me an orgasam when he striped in to david

Ok....soooo HE IS BRILLIANT! I think it was the actress...her presence just screams fourteen-year-old.

While I love David's natural accent.. I think the reason why he used his American accent is because people were afraid his Scottish accent wouldn't be well understood.. some people have a hard time understanding Scottish, Irish and even English some times.
I really wish they would have aired this series.. it really does look interesting. Why can't television people listen to the people they are entertaining instead of guessing what will and won't succeed. :|
I bet the pilot would have aired if he used his scottish accent =)
We can all look forward to Fright Night at least! I'm too excited!

DT' accents:
Scottish : LOVE! XD
English: Like! :)
American: No, just no :C!
I wish they'd have gone with his natural accent! I could listen to him for days on end with that one!
