first and foremost you are a faggot. ive been djing for about 11 years now. i have friends that have gone to school for music dedicated their live to music that agree that a turntable can be an instrument. it seems that your close minded fucktard brain probably doesnt have any talent other than making sure that everyone around you knows that your a complete tool bag within the first 5 seconds of meeting you. get some talent virgin.

this is the dumbest argument. your defense is really a dictionary and a dean of a college? yeah pretty sure you cant discredit a movement that way.

ummmmmm..... Many universities have added hip hop and turntablism to their curriculum.

"A phonograph in the hands of a 'hiphop/scratch' artist who plays a record like an electronic washboard with a phonographic needle as a plectrum, produces sounds which are unique and not reproduced -- the record player becomes a musical instrument."
John Oswald
i think someone like John Oswald has more insights on this subject than you have or will ever have

this is so funny, someone talking about instruments without knowing the definition of an instrument or even music itself
probable wanted to be a turntablist but just couldn't do it himself or his little band didn't get any gigs because the people didn't dig it and wanted to see some talented musicians playing their little turntable
and that doesnt say every wannabe turntablist is a musician

You sir, a legit RETARD! It's like claiming that a car is not a vehicle and some fool on the street approves :D

I am a DJ and I AM a musician!!!
My Turntable IS a instrument.
Whatch my videoresponse (Un-Fugue) ....
All you can hear there is played on Turntables. The music is NOT on the Vinyl - there is only a scale of notes, like on a piano.

all i can say is yawn..... how 1998 is this question.. sounds like a desperate plea for attention if you ask me.. seriously is this from a show from tech news from the 90's.. along with this hosts haircut its dated and lame to ask this question.. a real "provocative" question would be has the laptop producer replaced the turntabalist as the new avant garde musician to challenge the conservative perception of modern musicality..
