"Sweet Lorena" was a very popular song of the Civil War among the Confederate soldiers, sung around many campfires by those reflecting on their distant loves, lost and otherwise. This arrangement is based on the 1955 Norman Luboff Choir recording from the LP "Songs of The South", with a slightly different bridge than was normally done. The words have been accredited to Jeremy Stephen and the music derived from Joseph Philbrick Webster's version. The melody was beautifully rendered in the background of John Ford's classic, "The Searchers" (1956), probably John Wayne's best role.
Perfect John great performance
God Bless

Very nice. I have been wanting to record this great old song myself but I can not find a backing track anywhere.

@solvent88 I was passing by and I found your comment, I too love so much The searchers, it's one of my favourite movies ever and when there's this music I always shed some tears! We're lucky we've had great men like John Ford who made grat movies and used great songs!

This is a beautiful song and you sound great! Thanks for the special touch of including handsome Eric in the video! Yes, being the gentleman that he was, he would certainly be concerned about Lorena.
