On Violence Against Nurses

Representative Driscoll spoke in support of the passage of legislation which would stiffen the penalties of those who assault nurses and other health care workers.

"Violence takes an immense toll on victims, leaving marks that go beyond the mere physical. This is true more so when that violence is perpetrated in a persons work environment. It corrodes an employees sense of safety and morale in the workplace, negatively impacting their productivity, and often becoming taxing financially. Increased protections for individuals in the healthcare industry are essential for creating a safe and therapeutic environment for patients," stated Representative Driscoll.
