"Sunny Afternoon," by The Kinks (1969)

The tax man's taken all my dough,
And left me in my stately home,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
And I can't sail my yacht,
He's taken everything I've got,
All I've gots this sunny afternoon.

Save me, save me, save me from this squeeze.
I got a big fat mama trying to break me.
And I love to live so pleasantly,
Live this life of luxury,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime

My girlfriends run off with my car,
And gone back to her ma and pa,
Telling tales of drunkenness and cruelty.
Now I'm sitting here,
Sipping at my ice cold beer,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.

Help me, help me, help me sail away,
Well give me two good reasons why I ought'a stay.
cause I love to live so pleasantly,
Live this life of luxury,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime

Ah, save me, save me, save me from this squeeze.
I got a big fat mama trying to break me.
And I love to live so pleasantly,
Live this life of luxury,
Lazing on a sunny afternoon.
In the summertime
In the summertime
In the summertime

  • hiiiiiiha good morning england !!!!

  • Right...maybe it's just my impression, but in this context I listen to a sort of quote to this song in the chorus of 'Feel Good Inc.'

Perhaps is not an intentional thing...but anyway there's 'something' in my humble opinion.

  • i though it was blazing and not lazing

  • gran tema, los clasicos suenan bien en todo momento y en todas las epocas.

todos quisieramos tener el talento y la inspiracion para crear canciones tan hermosas

  • Chris Webby.

  • This, The Doors, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, all Classic Rock, the 60s and drugs were the new Renascence, now its up to us to reep the fruits of that marvelous expericence of mind, to be inspired by them and try our own, and then really make something our of the new society of the 21st century! Decriminalize drugs and make peace!
