How to prevent a painting disaster is something every howto/DIY person needs to know & be prepared for. If you don't prepare yourself for a painting disaster, then Murphy will bite you big time....how do I know this? Let's just say I do. Painting disasters happen all the time, but with a little foresight, you can prevent them....if you know how. Every painting disaster can be cleaned up & fixed so if a painting disaster happens to you, don't say you never want to paint again....just be prepared. What kind of painting disaster is "joe" referring to? One that's overlooked.

  • I'd also recommend wearing latex gloves while painting because paint stays on your skin for days...exposure to motor oil can cause cancer...who knows what paint exposure does

  • @infringinator This particular paint I'm using, is a latex enamel paint that cleans up with soap & water. It probably would be a good idea though, if you used gloves for say an oil base paint. Thanks for your comments & well noted. Joe :0

  • @VideoJoeKnows all I know is...the skin absorbs stuff. If you make a fist with aspirin inside your palm..your skin will absorb the medicine...I wouldnt trust anything other than natural stuff on my hands lol. But dont get my wrong. Im the guy who had primer and paint on his hands for a week :) I just think gloves are a good safety net, even if the paint is water based. They made my paint with eggshells thats all I know

  • @infringinator I didn't know you could do that with aspirin...cool. They don't make paint with egg shells...lol. That's just what they call a certain finish of paint, but you knew that....right?!! I probably should wear rubber gloves but then they get sweaty inside & make my fingers all pruning. Come to think of it, most professional painters don't use gloves either...depending on what type of painting they are doing. Thanks for checking back & leaving your comments for others to view. Joe :0

  • @VideoJoeKnows yes eggshells was a joke :) I know what you mean about the gloves...they make my hands sweaty while im putting on backsplash..Coal miners dont wear masks but they'll still get black lung in the end...its only advice. I personally dont wear gloves while im painting

  • @infringinator Thanks again for commenting as any viewer who takes time to read the comments will benefit from your thoughts/suggestions/knowhow/experience. Much appreciated. Joe :0

  • @VideoJoeKnows it won't now :)

  • I used my kitchen counter to hold all the paint stuff and just poured paint into the pan for the roller / brush...covered the counter in plastic it was easy! As far as the carpet...I used a large canvas dropcloth...but you are right Joe! Because Im looknig at 100's of mini dots of primer from when the roller was still wet? its along the edge of the laminate...I'll have to scrub it off but the point is...paint can be a harsh mistress if you treat her with no respect

  • @nutier Thanks for sending me your comments. I think I will make more videos for you!...lol Joe :0
