Property of unknown value was destroyed after officers believed to be from the city council demolished stalls in Eastleigh market last night. According to the traders the market has been purchased by a private developer. But according to the city council, the market has been pulled down for the construction of a multi-million state of the art shopping mall.

  • fucking government always putting regular hard working wanainchi out of business in favour of some shitty, fiendish foreigners

  • bigfish2009,

In Kenya, there is no respect for the rule of the Law. This case was filed in the court and the Government has no right to take any action relating to the property until the case is determined. But, If Thugs Run the Government, what do you expect. I think we need a Bigger Fish in 2012 to swallow them thugs.

  • My cousin was one of the people who lost a lot of money. It turns out the government officials that destroyed this property were paid by a female business woman - a relative of the current TFG president SHeikh Sharif - from Mogadishu who bought the land and was planning to build a mall there. I wonder if the mall got completed. Kenya needs to do something about the high levels of corruption with the government. This will always prevent Kenya from going forward at the right pace.

  • Damm thaz so sad for tha people

  • malipo ni hapa hapa. machozi ya mama si mchezo. this stupid developer is too gready see the pain he is puting this people through.

  • This is sad. They should have at least given the businesspeople a deadline after which a demolition was to be carried out. This is no way to treat innocent, hardworking citizens who are toiling hard to make an honest living during these difficult economic times!! Just sad.
