This is a summary of the 3rd annual "Blood, Sweat & Gear" (BSG10) campaign by the Detroit, Michigan networking group, "Motor City Connect."

During the week of August the 9th, 2010, we donated blood to the American Red Cross, we helped the "Motor City Blight Busters" renovate some houses in Detroit, and we had a fundraiser (that featured the Detroit Lions Herman Moore) and gave school supplies to "Operation Kid Equip."

This video is a summary of the entire week of activities. It also shows a garden that now occupies the land that, at the first MCC "BSG" campaign 2 years ago, MCC volunteers helped the "Blight Busters" demolish the crack house that had been a blight for years—and now it's a productive community garden!

[To see the video we produced of tearing down the crack house, visit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lE2_F34YWj8 ].

Steven Clark, of WXYZ, Channel 7 in Detroit, was instrumental in getting the word out about the campaign this year by broadcasting segments about the "BSG10" campaign, and about Operation Kid Equip.
