Once upon a time in L.A. I called Harry Dean Stanton, and we agreed to meet at the Mint Club. We talked backstage about God and religion until the roadie called him on stage.

I don't know exactly what an athiest is but it seems he believes in God (universe) whatever.....he's about love and consciousness. How is that not Godly!?! Coolness.

Harry Dean may be an atheist but a lot of what he says is not compatible with atheism. Fascinating guy and a great actor.

@tyme4mike...Couldnt have said it better myself bro..I had much respect for him ever since i first seen "Cool hand Luke"...I actually really thought he was a Christian until i seen this interview..it literally broke my heart to hear him say "God is not nameable" and basically went out of his way to reduce The Awesome Creator of this Universe to a "Concept" or "figment of one's imagination!" I dont have the answers either BUT i do know we were designed and Created by an AWESOME God!! Look around!

I loved Stanton until I saw this interview..he's lost any respect I had for him..he's not intelligent..he makes quotes about what everybody else says and it does nothing more than make him sound like a blathering idiot..have another drink old man and keep on deceiving your fans but you're only deceiving yourself...
