Ponti the African Gray Parrot

My parrot gets into her groove and vocalizes quite a bit for the camera. usually she is camera shy so this was a nice change. Every time (well almost) she hears "Buddy" (the name of our dog) she says, "Go outside and go potty, come on bud!" "Hi Ponti" is another one of her phrases, plus the barking of our pomeranian, and every squeak and groan our old house makes when we open doors and cabinets!

I have only had my gray for three weeks, but I now have towels and sheets over everything! He is almost eight years old, but has been in a cage most of his life. I love having him out, but "potty training" so far has only been on my part! I now recognize the 'look' he gives right before he goes! LOL! My grandson's mini-macaw will actually say "go Potty" and wait to be held over a garbage can!

Yes, indeed! Except I'm pretty sure most of ponti's are more purposeful and less accidental. They say a parrot is supposed to go a few times an hour. But if Ponti waited that long I'd think she was impacted!

My african gray talks a lot ! but only when no one is in the room, i've only had him for 2 weeks and he's 3 years old. Could you tell me why this is?
