@swordman600 the vostroyan units in the imperial guard, they don't use camo, they wear bright red uniforms, the color of mars. they come from a forge world, so in turn they worship the machine cult of mars. and so they wear red, to mach the color of mars.

@swordman600 ah, but if you look at an imperial guard unit such as the Vostroyans, they where bright red uniforms because of their devotion to the machine spirit. they try to mach the color of Mars, which is where many of the highest ranking members of the Machine Cult gather. many of them are worshiped as gods, which in the case of Vostroya, which happens to be a forge world, worship them in hopes that they may bless the great forges.

The uniforms of the Imperial Guard are camouflaged in order to protect their wearers by hiding them from sight.
The principle is that what the enemy cannot see he cannot kill. This is not the way of the Adeptus Astartes. A Space Marines armour is bright with heraldry that proclaims his devotion to his Chapter and the beloved Emperor of Mankind. Our principle is that what the enemy can see, he will soon learn to fear
