Does that work for mp3s too?

Great video! I have cleaned dozens of records using the same technique, and most of them have cleaned up to an astounding degree. It won't help with actual damage to the LP, scratches, gouges, and such - but if some of your records have that breakfast cereal sound (think: Rice Krispies - snap, crackle, pop!), cleaning them this way will reduce the noises, and perhaps completely eliminate them.

Word of warning this doe not seem to work on picture disks. :/ If you're still around poster respond to this so it get stuck at the top.

Why not turn on the Lights?

@thelongtie haha screw Mp3s!!!

brilliant tutorial - this is perfect! can't wait to try it :)
There shouldn't be a problem with picture discs, as the picture is encased in clear vinyl. Could pulling the mask off create enough 'sticktion' to separate the vinyl from the photo sheet beneath? Seems unlikely, but if you've had problems, let me know.

does it still work if you were to turn the lights on?

:-D
It was a color balance problem that I failed to correct. And no... it only works in the dark.

have you noticed any repair of minor scratches, or anything like that? Got a record that has a small scratch but it causes a skip, just wondering if this may help or not

No, it can't repair a scratch, but it can sometimes remove trash trapped in a light scratch that can cause a skip.

how many records does 1 bottle that size clean?

@brandonmanseau
You use much less than an ounce per side. 16 ounce bottle = 12 LPs +/-
