No it's not, lightsabers act more like actual lasers. Beam katanas act more like a real sword except its made of light. and no i never had that privilege because i never wanted that privilege.

Which is awesome. The original lightsabers in Star Wars got their sound by the effects guy kicking a rotating fan around and before plugging it in and recording the sound, so it's kind of coming full circle by this one looking like a household item.
