This is just a quick easy and free solution for My Mac Mini which will help reduces any noise transfer like noise from the superdrive while it's in action, noise transfer from the EXT drive I have stacked atop the Mini. It also helps the Mini Grip the desktop as bare smooth plastic and a smooth wood surface is just slippery.

  • OMG your keyboard has no windows or command key!

  • you can also get self adhesive rubber bumpers in the arts and crafts section of Walmart or any craft or art shop. They put them on the back of Picture frames so they stay level on the wall.

Give me $300 for a decent desk then I'll make some changes

How am I damaging it? They peel right off leaving no damage. If anything it will preserve the mini by not scratching the it underneath, helps keep it cooler, & etc...... So tell me, wheres the fuck up? Nobody would even notice either... Go Pound Sand LOL!!!!!!

  • @rnnice32 hahahaha awesome. ya seriously... get a new desk :) the mac mini is a lil princess :D

why not and in what way is it fucked?? I didn't glue them, they stick on and can be peeled off if I wish. Older Minis were rubberized and consider this, EVERY other Mac Desktop, notebook, Airport Extreme Base Station, Apple TV, Apple Display and etc have some sort of grip underneath. Anyone who messed up is Apple forgetting this small detail which could've been done seamlessly. No matter the desk i'd still have issues, so, What??

These slot load drives are all loud at high speed. Just sometime it would sound like a diesel generator with certain discs as not all discs R created equal. Many are imperfect and these drives are really sensitive.

My 17" iMac had the SD replaced. No only was it loud but it scratched discs. The replacement drive they installed only gets loud with certain discs at high speed.

So I guess it might be normal.

But this, it quiet done some as it's not sitting bare on the desk
